Laurine Frost - A Fading Virtue By Passing Time
Cat. no.: Marionette02
Format: 12” Vinyl EP (180g) + Digital
Release Date: June 2015
"Frost tends to play space as though it were another instrument, so that small, dry room tones collide with fat, wet, cathedral reverbs, triggering chain reactions of dimensional shrapnel; it's a Cubist approach, wringing impossible geometries out of different kinds of echo."
"...an earthy four minutes of jittery bass and marching snares that sounds like a jazz ensemble in an airing cupboard."
"...it only confirms that Frost is a producer with an ear for unusual compositions and Marionette a platform for those with ambitious vision."

This album manages to walk the line between precise melodic electronica and something raw, ritualistic and purely animal. I'd say it my personal favorite from Kilchhofer, though his entire catalog is worth checking out. Lost Tribe Sound
Throughout "Under," Dyani presents carefully-produced, soundscapes that, in one moment, invite the body to sway with echoing synths, whistles, claves and, in the next, pummel with waves of thumping hi-hats and bass. Bandcamp Album of the Day Sep 22, 2020
